A note to our parishioners from the OLV staff:
We have all seen recently the security issues that can become concerns for churches. Our ushers, with the help of Terry Stec (OLVCS School Resource Officer) have been trained and created protocols for handling situations that may cause apprehension. Most of the time, ushers recognize regular parishioners, but we do get visitors. Sometimes students visit and carry backpacks.
In general, please try not to bring large bags to church during Mass. Either keep in your car, or if you are transporting supplies for a church event, please try to drop off at a different time. Also, occasionally people film parts of Mass with a phone. Due to the fact of privacy concerns for each congregant, please refrain
from doing this and be sensitive to the comfort level of those around you.
On occasion, an usher may ask you to move your bag, or stop filming. Please be aware that if this happens it is not a personal insult- We are just trying to keep everyone safe. Thanks for understanding.
