Every Sunday when OLV CCD is in session, there is a separate meeting in the OLV Activities Center Assembly Room for adult catechesis. But what is adult catechesis?
Catechesis, as a general term, is similar to religious education, though it goes beyond the topics covered by our students in CCD and looks at the interaction of our faith with all aspects of live. Adult catechesis is faith education for anyone who is seen as an adult in the eyes of the church – i.e. anyone who has received the sacrament of Confirmation.
Adult catechesis sessions at OLV are an opportunity for adults of any age, including high school students who have recently been confirmed and therefore stopped attending regular CCD classes, to continue their exploration of the Catholic faith. They are an opportunity for anyone who wishes to attend to learn more about the Catholic faith and to grow through discussion with others.
You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like. Topics for each week are listed in advance in the bulletin and on the onlineĀ OLV Calendar.
If you have any questions and/or wish to join the adult catechesis email list, you can contact the program coordinator using this contact form.
